According to Foresight News, Web3 domain startup D3 Global has completed a $5 million seed funding round led by Shima Capital. Other participants in the round included Maelstrom, Lightshift, Dispersion Capital, VentureSouq, Infinite Capital, and Identity Digital founder Paul Stahura.

D3 Global claims to have a 'patent-pending technology' that can bring more interoperability between Web2 and Web3 internet, while also creating greater utility and security. The company plans to 'apply for and obtain new top-level domains during the upcoming ICANN application window to provide secure identities supported by all browsers and devices.' These top-level domains are primarily managed by ICANN or the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. D3 has also launched an on-chain domain marketplace, featuring tokenized versions of over 1,000 top-level domains.
