Arbitrum, Ethereum's leading layer 2 scaling solution, is set to enhance its ecosystem with the BoLD protocol, aiming to improve dispute resolution and reduce transaction delays. The proposal, open for a final vote via the Arbitrum DAO until Jan. 24, has already seen unanimous support. BoLD will allow anyone to participate in validation, moving away from a select group of validators. This change promises dispute resolution within 12.8 days. While Arbitrum One will adopt this permissionless model, Arbitrum Nova will maintain its current system but add Infura to its validator whitelist for increased security. If approved, BoLD will launch on Feb. 12.
