Rostin Behnam, the Chairman of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has announced that he will step down on January 20, the day of President Donald Trump's inauguration, according to a report by the Financial Times. During his tenure, Behnam has emphasized the importance of regulating digital asset markets and expressed his belief that the CFTC is well-suited for this task. In an interview with the FT, he stated that "the US still has a huge, largely unregulated digital asset marketplace." Despite his departure, Behnam remains optimistic about the future of digital assets. "We've already seen some traditional financial institutions embrace digital assets, and we're going to see a lot more interest in this space from institutions and individuals," he said.
