The CEOs of 10 companies have been banned from entering China
Even before President Trump took office, China began developing countermeasures. It banned the export of dual-use products from 28 U. S. defense companies and classified 10 of them as "untrustworthy.
The list includes General Dynamics, Boeing Defense Space and Security, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon Missile and Defense.
the Ministry of Commerce in Beijing announced today that it is "committed to protecting national security and interests, non-proliferation.
A spokesman
further stated that Beijing "has always taken a cautious approach to the issue of the list of untrustworthy organizations and only targets a small number of foreign organizations that threaten China's national security.
The ministry added that "honest and law-abiding foreign companies have nothing to worry about.
However, China may have simply reacted to Trump's threats and decided to fight first.
According to another Commerce Ministry statement, ten defense-related companies have also made it onto Beijing's list of untrustworthy companies because of their arms sales to Taiwan. These companies, in addition to defense and aerospace companies, were included in a sanctions list announced by Beijing's Ministry of Foreign Affairs late last year. Beijing considers Taiwan part of a group of countries that could unite by force if necessary. Most countries, including the United States, do not recognize Taiwan as a sovereign state. However, Washington opposes any attempt to seize Taiwan by force and is constitutionally obligated to provide weapons.
The list includes five Lockheed Martin subsidiaries, three subsidiaries of General Dynamics, Raytheon Missile Systems and Lockheed.
This means that these companies are prohibited from importing or exporting anything related to the KITEM mainland, and are also prohibited from making new investments in the KITEM mainland.
