Grayscale’s Latest Crypto Forecast for Q1 2025

Grayscale Research, a leading voice in the crypto investment space, has just updated its list of the top 20 cryptocurrencies expected to shine in Q1 2025. This update isn’t just a simple reshuffle; it’s a strategic look into what could define the next wave of digital asset growth.

New Entrants with Stellar Performance

The list now includes six new tokens, notably HYPE, ENA, VIRTUAL, JUP, JTO, and GRASS. These aren’t just names to remember.

This group of cryptocurrencies, which reached the hands of investors this 2024, have seen extraordinary price growths. For example, the HYPE token has risen nearly 750% in price since its launch on Nov. 29, while VIRTUAL has enjoyed an explosive increase of more than 6,000% since it debuted earlier this year.

Hyperliquid is a Layer 1 blockchain whose primary application is a decentralized exchange (DEX) of cryptocurrencies for perpetual futures. Jupiter and Jito are Solana-based platforms, while Virtual Protocol and Grass are AI-centric protocols, the former based on Coinbase’s Base network.

These tokens align with broader market themes like the upcoming U.S. elections affecting DeFi and staking, the rise of decentralized AI, and the expanding Solana ecosystem.

Traditional Giants and Rising Stars

While Bitcoin and Ethereum continue to hold their ground as market leaders, Grayscale has spotlighted other platforms.

Solana (SOL) is particularly noted for its high transaction speeds and is seen as a competitive alternative to Ethereum’s dominance in smart contracts.
