The real-world asset (RWA) sector has experienced unprecedented growth over the past three years, with its total value locked (TVL) reaching an all-time high of $8.217 billion. According to recent data from DeFiLlama, the sector has seen a significant spike of $1 billion in just the last seven days.

**Market Leaders Drive Growth**

Major players in the RWA sector, such as stablecoin issuer Usual and decentralized finance (DeFi) investment management platform Hashnote, are at the forefront of this growth. Both platforms have seen significant increases in their TVL, with Hashnote experiencing a 65.58% weekly increase and Usual recording a 65.65% growth. Together, they account for over 35% of the value of assets locked in the RWA sector.

**Usual’s Strong Performance**

Usual’s strong performance can be attributed to its recent Series A funding round, which raised $10 million led by Binance Labs and Kraken Ventures. The platform’s governance token also reached a new all-time high following a fake partnership announcement with the U.S. government.

**Other Platforms See Growth**

Other platforms, such as Nest Staking, MatrixDock, Franklin Templeton, and Ethena, have also seen significant growth. Nest Staking experienced a weekly increase of over 58%, while MatrixDock and Ethena saw more modest upticks.

**Not All Protocols Experience Growth**

However, not all protocols in the RWA sector have experienced uniform growth. DeFiLlama’s data shows that Solv Protocol, DigiFT, Danogo, KlimaDAO, and Fortunafi have faced varying degrees of decline. Danogo incurred the most significant loss, with a 15% decline in its TVL over the past seven days.

**Shift in Traditional Asset Management**

The growth in RWA tokenization could signal a shift in how traditional assets are managed, traded, and accessed. Several players in the Argentine lithium mining sector have announced plans to tokenize the industry, while financial giants like BlackRock have helped legitimize the space through its BUILD initiative.
