It's a bloodbath out there as Bitcoin leads a crypto crash, as assets like Ethereum, XRP, Solana, and Dogecoin show double-digit losses
$BTC Bitcoin plunged to a current price of $95,875, just two days after rising to that new peak above $108,000. The leading cryptocurrency is now down 7% on the day—but other high-cap coins are seeing bigger losses on the day.
$ETH has plummeted by nearly 12% on the day at a current price of $3,361 while the Ripple-linked $XRP has nearly matched its fall with an 11% dip, trading for $2.20.
Meanwhile, the leading meme coin Dogecoin has collapsed by nearly 20% on the day at a current price around $0.30. And Solana has fallen below the $200 mark, tanking by 12% to a price of $188.
It's bloodshed up and down the crypto charts, with the broader market down by 9% per data from CoinGecko. Some $1.17 billion worth of long and short positions have been liquidated over the last day as a result, per data from CoinGlass, as Bitcoin leads the charge with $241 million in liquidations.
