Chromia, a Layer-1 relational blockchain platform, has released the Asgard Mainnet Upgrade, the Layer-1 relational blockchain platform upgrade. This update brings additional features to enhance DeFi and AI’s capabilities in the ecosystem. The main addition featured in the upgrade is the Chromia Extensions Framework, a modular system that allows specific applications to be added to the Chromia ecosystem.
Oracle Extension Enhances DeFi Capabilities
Oracle Extension provides fully on-chain, real-time price feeds that update, on average, per second. This feature enables the building of sophisticated decentralized applications (Dapps)including decentralized exchanges, lending protocols, and options platforms.
The Oracle Extension connects Chromia’s blockchain infrastructure with broader crypto ecosystems. The Oracle service is intended to maintain various financial instruments that need exact information by offering accurate, timely data. Chromia’s Vice President of Platform Unit, Ludvig Öberg, on his part, said that several DeFi activities would be stimulated due to the Oracle Extension, thereby enhancing the value of the network.
Besides the upcoming Oracle Extension, Chromia has more integrations in the pipeline, such as CHR tokens and other Chromia-based tokens on CEXs and cross-chain wallets. These have been carried out to improve the platform’s compatibility with the existing cryptocurrency environment.
AI Inference Extension Scheduled for 2025
Chromia has revealed the development of the AI Inference Extension will be released in Q1 2025. This tool will enable developers to perform AI models on-chain using Chromia’s decentralized provider system. The newer Data and AI Division is also responsible for projects that increase the transparency of the AI training data and inputs.
Yeou Jie, Head of Business Development at Chromia, highlighted the potential of the upcoming extension to transform AI use cases, stating that it builds on the platform’s unique relational data structure. The AI Inference Extension is poised to bring transparency and functionality to AI applications in the blockchain domain.
Chromia plans to release a public demonstration of the Oracle Extension. The platform also integrates this feature with DeFi protocols, underscoring its vision to support diverse applications, including gaming and enterprise use cases.
