The Bitcoin Pizza Predicament 🍕 🍕 🍕
Tommy was a Bitcoin enthusiast who prided himself on being an early adopter. Back in 2010, he mined a few thousand Bitcoin on an old laptop and quickly forgot about it. Years later, after hearing about Bitcoin’s meteoric rise, he remembered his stash and decided to treat himself to a nice meal.
He logged into an old wallet and discovered he had over 10,000 BTC. “I’m rich!” he screamed, running around his apartment. But Tommy was also starving. Instead of cashing out a little Bitcoin for something fancy, he thought, Why not relive the legend of the Bitcoin pizza?
Tommy called up his favorite local pizzeria, “Pepperoni Paradise,” and convinced the owner to accept Bitcoin. He proudly sent 1 BTC (worth $65,000 at the time) for two large pizzas. The delivery driver, stunned, asked, “You’re sure about this, right?” Tommy just laughed, saying, “It’s just crypto magic!”
But as soon as the pizza arrived, Tommy received a notification: “Bitcoin hits $70,000!” His appetite vanished as he stared at the greasy boxes, realizing he’d just paid the equivalent of a luxury car for melted cheese and pepperoni.
From then on, Tommy became the local legend of the “Million-Dollar Margherita.” The pizza shop owner? He retired early, calling himself the Pizza Whale.
Moral of the story: Don’t let hunger cloud your judgment—or you might end up biting into a very expensive mistake…
