Mt. Gox was the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, managing over 70% of all bitcoin transactions in its early years. In 2014, a major hack led to the loss of

approximately 740,000 bitcoins (worth over $15 billion at today’s prices). This incident was the largest of numerous attacks on the exchange between 2010 and 2013.
