A team of hackers cracked a Bitcoin wallet locked for 11 years, gaining access to $3 million! 🤑 The wallet's owner had forgotten the password generated by RoboForm, which was encrypted and lost over time. Electrical engineer Joe Grand, aka 'Kingpin', used an NSA tool to disassemble RoboForm’s code.
🛠️ They discovered that RoboForm’s passwords weren't truly random and exploited this by setting the system clock back to when the password was created. ⏳ Despite their expertise, Grand admitted they got lucky with the parameters and timing. 🍀
