Is the $BEL coin that is running right now the same as the old one? This has been hotly debated and caused some kind of rift between communities.
Based on the available information, it is conclusive and most certainly not the old $BEL, up to an extent.
The creator of $DOGE, Billy Markus has mentioned, it is still the old code.

Why is that?
It is because, the new chain was restarted at around that time. New "blocks" have been mined and a new "chain" is being made.
This is hard proof that the old code is there, but in an entirely new and improved package.
