_One of the best companies in the security sector in the field of #digital.currencies , the electronic wallet company #Ledger , was subjected to a cyber attack. The Paris-based startup saw its Ledger Connect Kit software hacked, draining hundreds of thousands of dollars from users' wallets on Thursday.

_The company said in a statement that the hack arose from a phishing attack targeting a former employee. The hackers deployed malicious code that redirected users' funds to their private wallet during transactions with decentralized applications (dapps), which used the software affected by the hack. The company said the malicious code was present for about five hours. Ledger reported that it has filed a complaint and is working with law enforcement in the investigation to find the hackers. In another post, the company said that the malicious code has been removed and it is now safe to use the Ledger Connect Kit.
