According to Odaily, SlowMist's Cosine posted on X platform about a recent phishing incident involving a user's WETH on Blast. Several key points were highlighted: 1. The WETH on Blast is Blast's wrapped ETH token, which has an upgradable contract and supports permit offline authorization signatures. 2. The WETH code on the Ethereum mainnet is very concise, with around 50 lines, ensuring reliability. The amount of WETH issued corresponds to the amount of ETH stored in the contract, without any additional features like permits. 3. The user fell victim to phishing because Inferno Drainer supported Blast WETH permit offline authorization signatures. The phishing group meticulously studied the details, which ultimately determined their success. Previously, on September 18, a user lost 150 WETH (approximately $349,200) after signing a 'permit' phishing signature.
