Google has announced a $10 million program to support the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into small business operations within the United States. In partnership with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Google seeks to provide more advanced AI training to support small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in utilizing AI technology to improve their processes.

The financing will set up AI Clinics in universities and community colleges across the United States, where students will be practically involved in AI training for local small-scale business owners. This marks an important step toward making AI tools available to smaller enterprises and empowering them to survive and thrive in an increasingly dynamic world of technology.

Google rolls out AI training and clinics nationwide

Working in collaboration with the SBDC, the tech giant will establish “America’s SBDC AI U”, which is a dedicated AI training platform aimed at teaching SMBs how to use AI tools to optimize business operations. The AI clinics located in universities and community colleges in the USA will have trained SBDC AI Clinic Advisors, who will supervise students in providing practical AI consultancy services and support to small enterprises.

The aim, as stated by the company, is to empower small business owners with direct AI knowledge and tools that could significantly enhance their daily operations. The initiative is designed to teach practical AI training and create partnerships between students and businesses, ensuring that this advanced tech is beneficial to the local communities.

Google launches new AI training program for small businesses nationwide

Besides the SBDC initiative, Google’s “Grow with Google” program is introducing a new on-demand AI training course that can be accessed anytime. This course, which features insights from small business operators and Google’s AI experts, is designed to aid business owners in understanding how to streamline and optimize business operations using AI-powered tools.

The workshops will be hosted by Grow with Google Digital Coaches who will describe how one can apply knowledge of AI in real life. The training is aimed at assisting small entrepreneurs to remain relevant by embracing the use of AI solutions which can enhance their operational methods such as inventory management, customer service and marketing activities.
