    Binance is not the only crypto exchange to have been targeted by fraudsters recently.

    On October 9, 2023, Chanpgpeng Zhao, the director of the world's largest crypto exchange, Binance, published a message on his microblog to warn the public about a crypto scam. Indeed, a screenshot attached to his message describes a ploy by which attackers pose as employees of the platform.

  • A Binance user said he received a phone call from alleged representatives of the platform. According to him, these attackers already knew his full name. The user suggested that the fraudsters could have obtained his data thanks to a leak suffered by the consulting firm Kroll in August 2023. The fraudsters then managed to break through Kroll's security systems by targeting one of the company's employees.
