The Cardano blockchain recently thwarted a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack, leading to the development of a node upgrade to prevent similar future attacks. The attack, which began on June 25, aimed to manipulate the Cardano network into charging lower fees for high-value transactions and potentially steal staked Cardano (ADA) tokens. However, Cardano developers outsmarted the attacker, reclaiming the stolen ADA tokens and halting the attack. The Cardano ecosystem member organization, Intersect, confirmed the attack and praised the swift resolution. The team is now working on a solution to minimize the impact of such spam attacks in the future.
