Cohen explained that about 80% of Bitcoin #ETFvsBTC purchases are currently made by self-directed investors using online brokerage accounts. According to 13-F filings last quarter, hedge funds and brokerages were also active buyers. However, registered investment advisors remain hesitant.

“I would call them cautious...that's their job,” Cohen said. She stressed the fiduciary responsibility that advisors have towards their clients, noting that the historical volatility of Bitcoin prices, which has reached 90% at times, requires a comprehensive risk analysis and due diligence.
