According to the Pi Network whitepaper, the maximum total supply of Pi is 100 billion. Out of this, the $Pi community holds 80%, while the Pi Core Team holds 20% of the circulating total supply of Pi.
The Pi Core Team also affirms that Pi Network does not allocate any portion for ICOs and DOES NOT engage in any form of community fundraising through Pi sales. Pi can be mined freely by contributing to the ecosystem.
From this information, we can conclude that the value of Pi is determined by the community holding Picoin, not by any individual or organization.
