The Global Race is on for BTC

The London Stock Exchange is set to start trading Bitcoin and Ethereum Exchange-Traded Notes (ETNs) on May 28, 2024. This comes after the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) gave the go-ahead to WisdomTree and 21Shares to list their Bitcoin and Ethereum ETPs on the exchange. This approval is a big step for the UK in terms of how it regulates cryptocurrencies.

The UK is following in the footsteps of USA and then Hong Kong, which have also approved crypto investment products. We don't have all the details yet. These products are expected to have competitive fees, with WisdomTree's offering charging 0.95%.

This launch is a big deal for the UK's cryptocurrency market because it lets big investors get involved with Bitcoin and Ethereum through regulated and traditional investment options. It also shows that cryptocurrencies are becoming more accepted and integrated into mainstream financial markets. Sad however that retail in the UK cannot get access.
