According to Odaily, ETF issuer VanEck has announced plans to close and liquidate its Ethereum Futures ETF. The board of VanEck ETF Trust has approved the liquidation and dissolution of the fund. VanEck stated that it continuously monitors and evaluates its ETF products based on various factors, including performance, liquidity, assets under management, and investor interest. The decision to liquidate the fund was made after analyzing these factors and other operational considerations.

Shareholders of the fund can sell their shares on the fund's listing exchange until the market closes on September 16, 2024 (UTC+8), although they may incur brokerage transaction fees. After the market closes on September 16, 2024, the fund's shares will no longer be traded on the listing exchange and will subsequently be delisted. The expected liquidation date of the fund is around September 23, 2024, at which time shareholders who still hold shares will receive a cash liquidation distribution in the cash portion of their brokerage accounts, equal to the net asset value of their shares.
