According to Odaily, EigenDA has announced the introduction of Custom Quorums, enabling the re-staking of native Layer2 tokens. This new feature allows teams to re-stake ERC-20 tokens to secure their rollup's custom quorum, enhancing security for rollup users and providing returns for token holders.

For rollups, this development means they can collaborate with the EigenDA team to incorporate their tokens into the custom quorum pool, with plans for future permissionless integration. For operators, the addition of ERC-20 token custom quorums to EigenDA will soon allow them to support staking other tokens in the same manner as ETH and EIGEN. It is important to note that opting into additional quorums may significantly increase the Total Quorum Stake, and resources should be adjusted according to system requirements.

For stakers, this feature release means they will be able to stake any ERC-20 token supported by EigenDA and delegate these tokens to operators protecting EigenDA. EigenDA is an Active Verification Service (AVS) launched on EigenLayer. According to the EigenLayer website, it is protected by approximately 3.6 million re-staked ETH and 71.5 million EIGEN contributed by over 128,000 stakers.
