French government websites taken offline by DDoS attack, possibly related to Pavel Durov's arrest

According to Cointelegraph, several French government websites have gone offline due to DDoS attacks, which are suspected to be linked to a Russian hacker group. The affected websites include the Paris Administrative Court, the French Ministry of Health, and the website of the French Supreme Court. Entropia Intel's preliminary report states that this attack is believed to be a response to the arrest of Telegram founder Pavel Durov in France. On August 24th, Durov was detained by French authorities on charges of conspiracy with illegal activities. French President Emmanuel Macron later issued a statement, stating that Durov's arrest was not for political reasons and reaffirming France's commitment to freedom of expression. As of now, Durov has not been formally charged with a crime. The French authorities can detain him until August 28th for further investigation.
