According to PANews, a document dated August 13 reveals that the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Arca electronic exchange has withdrawn a rule change proposal submitted in January. The proposed change would have allowed the listing and trading of options based on commodity trusts, including options on cryptocurrency ETFs such as Grayscale's GBTC. This development is the latest in a series of regulatory activities surrounding cryptocurrency ETF options.

Previously, on August 8, the Chicago Board Options Exchange (Cboe) amended an application to list Bitcoin ETF options. Additionally, a document from August 6 shows that Nasdaq requested the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to permit the listing of options for BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA). Bloomberg anticipates that Bitcoin spot options will be available in the fourth quarter.
