According to CoinDesk, IoTeX, an Ethereum-compatible blockchain platform optimized for decentralized physical infrastructure projects (DePIN), has launched its 2.0 platform. This new version aims to democratize access to DePIN by partnering with NEAR, Filecoin, RISC Zero, Espresso, and other entities to enhance data availability, storage, computation, and sequencing. The team behind IoTeX stated that the 2.0 platform features DePIN Infrastructure Modules (DIMs) and a Modularity Security Pool (MSP) to reduce development costs and support sustainable growth for DePIN projects. The platform positions itself as the largest decentralized hub for devices and data, which will be deployed by both humans and AI agents. The introduction of the Modularity Security Pool (MSP) allows DePIN layer-1s to restake their Proof-of-Stake security to DIMs, promoting growth and sustainability within the ecosystem. This enables projects to gain immediate exposure, liquidity, and verification as they evolve. As these projects mature, they can transition to their own DePIN-specific L2, achieving true sovereignty.
