AI development platform Sentient has raised $85 million in seed funding from investors including Peter Thiel's Founders Fund, Pantera Capital, and Framework Ventures. The startup aims to enable AI developers to monetize their open-source models and data, addressing the current lack of incentives for open-source AI development. The funds will be used to hire engineers and further develop the platform. Sentient's founders include Sandeep Nailwal of Polygon and Princeton professor Pramod Viswanath. The startup's testnet is expected to be available in Q4 2024.
